Overview

Breaking Darkness Music Festival is a grassroots charity music event promoting unity, fellowship, hope, and redemption featuring the top Christian rock and metal artists on tour.

Challenge

The event was started in 2024 by myself with minimal funds and desire to make a difference to give back to charities that help folks overcome addiction as well as provide an alternative to the hopeless derision often seen in the world.

Goal

Designed logo, branding, website, giveaway swag bag, event theme and overall schedule. Also created promo video, booked venue and artists, ran regional advertising and PR campaigns on social media and radio, developed donation info packet and coordinated all fundraising as ticket revenue was donated to outreach charities.

Results

The festival has achieved rapid success since its launch. Attendance doubled within the first two years, leading to a nearly sold-out event in 2025. Cumulatively, the festival has raised over $8,000 for regional outreach charities.
